UNDERGRAD WORK
All works below were completed at Northern Illinois University. Identity was a very powerful theme that many of these pieces revolve around. The social context of identity that is becoming more prevalent in many works today was not as much the subject as much as the spiritual context. The idea of a "true self" that is underlying everyday interactions, but still guiding them, is a very powerful idea to me. The biggest lesson I learned was that the work I felt most invested in and proudest of was consciously apolitical; for me politics are the results of greater unresolved and more human issues that the individual confronts.
